In my review of E. C. Osondu's "A Letter from Home," I mentioned that the author had another piece, available for reading on AGNI Online, entitled "Jimmy Carter's Eyes." The latter story has been nominated and short-listed for the Caine Prize. The prize is awarded annually for best African literature. The winner of the 2006 Million Writers Award has now been announced. The winning entry is “Urchins, While Swimming," by Catherynne M. Valente. The story appeared in Clarkesworld Magazine, Issue 3; December, 2006. It is indeed an extremely good story and congratulations are in order for Ms. Valente and Clarkesworld!
